Lone Star Mine Rockhounding Adventure!
Dig for beautiful banded fluorite in the stunning desert mountains of Arizona
The Lone Star Mine is the only place in Arizona where rainbow fluorite forms. Collect beautiful fluorite specimens that come in shades of green, purple, and even blues, pinks, yellows and reds.
When you visit the Lone Star Mine, you will be digging through the tailings of the mine that ran from the 1950s to the 1970s. Within 20 years, miners excavated over 20,000 tons of fluorite which makes the Lone Star Mine the biggest fluorite occurrence in Arizona.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The underground workings of the Lone Star Mine flooded this summer and has caused hazardous conditions. The tours going into the mine are shut down until further notice.
